Women Study Centre in collaboration with IQAC inaugurated 3-Day Workshop to celebrate International Women’s Day from 05-03-2024 to 07-03-2024 under the guidance of worthy Principal Dr. Romilla Malla Bhatt. The inaugural function began with the lighting of lamp invoking Goddess Saraswati followed by Bouquet presentation to the Chief guest on the occasion, Dr. Romilla Malla Bhatt. Convenor,Women Study Centre Dr.Anju Bala in her welcome address said that both the genders together can contribute for the betterment of home and society and it is possible only when women will value themselves as human being and not as a second gender. The chief guest on the occasion said that women need not to depend on men for their upliftment. She motivated students to be independent and alert at the same time so that no one can deprive them of their due share. The convener IQAC Dr. Monika Malhotra in her keynote address introduced the theme of the Multilingual Symposium on the topic “ Embracing Womenhood” organised by Dept. of English. She informed the students about the theme of International Women day 2024 “ In spire Inclusion” which emphasizes the importance of understanding and valuing women’s inclusion to create a better world. This we can do by inculcating in young minds the leadership qualities and by turning their dreams into reality. In the symposium 21 participants from all the semesters expressed their views in different languages, Dogri, hindi and English. The symposium was adjudged by Dr. Deepika Gupta(HoD Chemistry), Prof. Savita Jamwal(HoD Economics) and Dr. Rajiv Katoch(Dept. of English). The first prize was awarded to Nidhi , 2 nd prize was secured by Ishita and winner of the third prize was Shehjar. The consolation prize was awarded to Deepika and Lakshita. In the 2 nd session exhibition showcasing the home made local articles was organised. The articles like binna ,tokri , chajj, chabdhi, chhicku, Pakhi and food items like bhelpuri, Golgappa ,kachalucosmetic items were displayed. The students of various semesters sold local seasonal plants and food items displaying their managerial and entrepreneurial skills promoting the theme “ Vocal for Local”. The workshop was organised by Dr. Anju Bala, Dr. Monika Malhotra and Dr. Sandhya Rani. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Dr. Rimjhim Gupta.
