Govt. Degree College Akhnoor, organized ‘One day workshop on Self Employment Skills’ under Career Counselling Programme in collaboration with Department of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu. The Programme started with lighting of lamp and Saraswati vandhana. Principal, Dr. S.P Sharma was the Chief Guest. The resource persons were Dr. Udham Dass Sharma(KAS), Registrar, Co-operatives; Sh. Som Nath Sharma, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Akhnoor and Sh. Janak Raj, Agriculture Extension Officer. Principal, Dr. S.P Sharma while speaking on the occasion highlighted the importance of generating self employment skills for the budding generation. The workshop was attended by about 150 students. The resource persons deliberated in detail about the future scope of self employment in the field of Agriculture, Apiculture, Mushroom culturing and Pradhan Mantri Koushal Vikas Yojana. This workshop was organized by Prof. Raj Kumar Gupta, Convenor Career Awareness cell, GDC Akhnoor. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Rewa Lakhnotra. Other faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Chander Shekhar Sharma, Prof. Tarsem Lal, Prof. Shamim Ahemad, Prof. Kuldeep Kumar, Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Prof. D.N Sharma, Prof. Sonia Bhau, Prof. Mamta Sharma and other faculty members.
