One Day Folk Festival Celebrated in Collabration With J&K State Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages  
 

    

On 22-09-2023 A one-of-a-kind Folk Festival was brought to fruition at GDC Akhnoor this Friday in collaboration with J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages. The initiative of Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat received complete support from Mr. Bharat Singh Manhas, JKAS, the Academy Secretary, Dr. Shahnawaz, ECCO (G), Mr. Anil Tickoo, ACO, as well as the College Cultural Committee headed by Dr. Sandhya. Mr. Manhas stressed on the importance of Cultural activities in student life, while Dr. Bhat held such activities responsible for keepin the multicultural facets of J & K unified Senior Artist Mr. Uttam Singh’s “Aamb Pakke Akhnoor,” Mr. Ravi Raghuvanshi and Party’s “Geetdu” folk song, Mr. Ravi Raghuvanshi’s “Taare Tudaa Paiyaan,” Mr. Vanshika Jraal’s “Gran Deya Lambadu,” Mr. Lovely Singh’s “Ki Bannu Duniya Da,” Miss Radhika Manhas and Group’s Laal Paranda Dance, and GDC Akhnoor’s Dr. Aksa’s “Udre Jande Pakhedu” was received amongst thundering applause from the audience. The college witnessed dance performances by students which were as eclectic as Claasical Saraswati Vandana, Dogri, Pahadi, Haryaanvi, Laavni etc., by Shruti Jasrotia, Khushi, Tamanna, Riya, Taniya Rajput, Poonam, Reetu, Radha, Mitali and more. The program was managed by Miss Bindiya Raina Tickoo from the Academy with help from Dr. Sukriti Sharma, Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Aastha Sharma and Sanya. The photography and videography was handled by college student Himanshu Khour.
