On 9th June 2018, Principal of GDC Akhnoor Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma inaugurated the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Program under the Ministry of Human Resource Development with Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and Ministry of Water and Sanitation in which about Thirty NSS volunteers and faculty members of the college and locals Participated. On this occasion, Principal of the college emphasized that such type of Programs aware the people about various schemes on swachhta run by Government to keep the surrounding neat and clean. Under this program NSS Volunteers of GDC Akhnoor adopted five villages viz Pangiari, Bomal, Kotgarhi, Kaink Jagir and Gura Brahamana of Akhnoor Block to make Swachh Bharat Mission as National Mission. The NSS volunteers with charts and banners visited the adapted village Pangiari and aware the people about the use of toilets, hand washing, health and hygiene etc. The resource persons Prof. Suresh Sharma, Pof Yogesh Sharma, and Master Balwant Raj Sharma aware the villagers how we can keep the house and surrounding clean. The whole program was coordinated under the guidance of Nodal officer of the program Prof. Dewarka Nath. The other dignatries present were Prof Tarsem Lal, Naib Sarpanch Village pangiari, Librarian Nisha Kalsi, Sh. Sham Lal.
