Facilities Available on the Campus

College Library

The college library is located in the heart of academic complex and is easily accessible to all the students. It
is well equipped with a collection of about 4,000 books comprising of Text Books, Reference books, Literary books, Periodicals, Novels, Encyclopedia and journals. It is subscribing nearly all leading newspapers, magazine, journals for the students and staff of the college.

Library Rules

  1. Books shall be issued to a student on production of Library Borrower's card which is issued to him/her at thestart ofthe academic session bythe Librarian.
  2. Books lost or damaged in any way shall have to be replaced by the borrower failing which double cost of the book shall be charged. The borrower should satisfy himself/herself about the sound condition of the book before leaving the counter. Books are issued for a period of 14 days only and a fine of Rs. 1/- per book shall be charged afterthe due date.
  3. Reference books, rare books, books specially reserved and current periodicals will not be issued for use in homes. These can be consulted only within the library premises.
  4. Student can borrow two books from the library.
  5. Strict silence shall be observed in the Library and reading rooms. Students shall not take their personal books or belonging inside the library.
  6. Students appearing for the University examination shall surrender their Library Cards/Borrower's card before receiving Roll No. Slips. Students failing to surrender their cards at that time shall incur a fine of Rs. 200/-

Identity Cards

Every student on being admitted shall be issued an Identity card which he/she will carry on his/her person at all times and shall produce on demand, by any member of the college staff any there in the college premises.

Well Equipped Computer Lab:

The College has well equipped modern Laboratory for the students of Computer Application. It has 16 systems and provided computer literacy and internet access to students and staff.

 

 

Smart Class Room:

The college has a well established smart class room where lectures on different subjects are delivered periodically by college faculty as well as resource persons from different organisations.

 

 

Health and Counselling Centre:

This centre has been set up by state health department in the college. The centre provides free of cost First Aid, Medicare, Medical Counseling to students and staff.

Bus Facility

The College has its own bus and provided to and fro facility for the college students of nominal rates. The college bus service is more secure for girl students to reach in the college in the hazardous atmosphere of local traffic.

Sports & Physical Education

The Academic atmosphere in the college attempts to nurture healthy mind in the students and the endeavors of the physical education department is to give them a healthy body. Students are encouraged to participate in games at college as well as University level. The Sportsman are provide all necessary facilities like equipment, uniform, travelling, allowance and refreshment for training as well as during the conduct of tournaments players are expected to be disciplined and highly punctual. For physical fitness a gymnasium has been installed insidethe college.

SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

There are scholarships for Schedule Castes, Schedules Trives, Low Income Groups, other Social Castes, RBA, ALC, Frontier and Handicapped students. National Loan Scholarships and National Scholarships are awarded by the Govt, of India. Besides these, merit scholarships are also awarded to the deserving students of the college in addition to university scholarships awarded by Jammu University. Over and above all these scholarships, liberal help is given to the deserving students out of the Mutual Benefit Fund augmented by the State Govt. Grants and UGC Funds.

The grant and continuance of the scholarships is subject to the following conditions :-

  1. Regular Attendance
  2. Satisfactory Conduct
  3. Production of Income Certificate
  4. Attested copy of the State Subject Certificate

Scholarships shall be drawn only for the following periods:

  1. Academic Session
  2. Sanctioned holidays and Sundays
  3. Permissible Leave

College Canteen:

The College canteen is well furnished which caters students as well as staff of the college with neat and clean, fresh and hygienic food items at fair price. The college canteen is run by a contractor.

Beautification of College Campus:

A campus beautification committee consisting of faculty has been constituted which monitors the working of gardeners and safai-karamcharis. Posters and others printed material are used to create awareness among the students and the workers about the clean and pollution free environment. Recently the college has planted different varities of ornamental trees for the beauty enhancement of the campus.

 

Hostel Facilities:

The college has no hostel facility.

 

Student’s Executive Body:

The college management through Department of Student’s Welfare elects class representative from every section through an election process. Students’ Executive Body is formed out of the students’ selected as class representatives, which assist the college management in its functioning. It participates in policy making for students welfare. This body also helps in maintaining college discipline and guides the students to follow campus rules and regulations.

 

NCC

There are two companies of NCC (one each for Boys and girl) with strength of 110(60+50) cadets exists in the college. Enrolment of students to NCC is done at the time of admission. NCC activities are organized both at State and National level. All girls who are physically fit are ordinarily enrolled as Cadets. Regular parades (twice a week) are held under the supervision of the P.I. Staff of the Army and NCC Officer. Complete uniform is issued to each Cadet. They have to be in their uniform in all the parade sessions. Annual training camps are held, in which only selected Cadets can participate. Cadets are selected every year to be sent to different parts of the country to participate in National Integration Camps, Mountaineering Courses, Trekking Adventures, Rock Climbing and other such activities.The Cadets can qualify for ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates after completing the required eligibility conditions and successfully passing the tests held by the NCC Directorate. NCC Organization help students to prepare themselves for the service of the nation in peace and war times.

 

NSS

An important activity of the college is to train the students in the process of nation building. This activity is being performed by the NSS units of the college. Two units of NSS volunteers are functioning in the College. Our NSS volunteers have participated in the social work, health, environment activities and literacy campaigns at the town, district, state and national level. These volunteers have got recognition for their work and dedication at all levels. At present the college has total NSS strength of 100 students. Students are enrolled in the NSS by the College Advisory Committee of the NSS. Annual camps are held to infuse among the volunteers, the spirit of selfless service and dedication to the cause of social reconstruction. The motto of NSS is NOT ME BUT YOU. Our NSS volunteers have shown keen interest to live up to this motto. Enrolment to NSS is done once the admissions are over.

 

Co-Curricular Activities:

In order to provide opportunity to the students for self-development, the following activities are organized in the College on regular basis.

a) Debates, Symposia, Seminars and Declamation Contest
b) Literary Meets and Group Discussions.
c) Essay/Paper Writing and Quiz Competitions.
d) Cultural Programes.
e) Poster making.

 

Girls Common Room. :

The college has provided the facility of common room to girls
